About Action for Well Being

A Delhi-based NGO building inclusive India through LGBTQIA+ education, legal literacy, and mental health awareness since 2019.

Our Story

Advocacy Rooted in Law & Lived Experience

Action for Well Being (AWB) was founded in 2019 by Adv. Suraj Tomar and Abhishek Dey — a lawyer and a scientist — with a shared belief that education, law, and empathy are the most powerful tools for social change.

Working extensively in schools, colleges, corporate and government institutions, AWB promotes queer inclusion, sexual and mental health awareness, and legal support. Our programmes are grounded in Indian constitutional law — from the reading down of Section 377 IPC to the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019.

Our proposed events aim to bring together young and experienced advocates, members of the judiciary, and queer rights activists for interactive discussions to identify legal gaps, dismantle inherent biases, and promote inclusive justice.

Our Vision

An India where every person, regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation, can live openly, authentically, and with the full protection of the law — in their homes, schools, workplaces, and communities.
